Troubleshooting
Remove the tray
Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.
Gently remove the jammed sheet
Use both hands to draw the paper out slowly and downward, as shown in Brother’s illustration. Do not force a stuck sheet.
Reload and reseat the tray
Fan the remaining paper, fit the guides to its size, and keep the stack below the maximum mark. Push the tray firmly back into the printer.
When to contact support
Editorial guidance: Stop if paper will not come out gently, is inaccessible, or jams repeatedly after correct loading. Ask Brother support for help. Do not remove housings or reach into the fuser area.
Editorial note: This guide covers the tray named in the message. A rear or internal jam requires its own model-specific instructions.
